Washing Instructions for Alpaca

Boys are bound to get dirty, but never fear—your alpaca cardigan might look like it needs to be treated with kid’s gloves, but it is actually surprisingly strong and sturdy. Alpaca wool is incredibly soft, yet has stain-resistant and water-resistant properties: the perfect combination for boys who like to play in the mud!

To wash your cardigan, soak in a mild detergent in cold water and gently squeeze to mix in the soap. Avoid wringing, which can cause stretching. Rinse well and lay between two towels. Roll the towels to soak up the excess water. Lay the cardigan flat on a fresh towel to dry.

It’s the Little Things that Matter Most

Miou creator and designer Christine Dubin cares about the well-being of children, which is why she created a company that produces fashionable, high-quality children’s clothing made with eco-friendly wools and organic cotton.

She pays her knitters in Peru a fair wage, which means that their children can be well cared for and clothed and educated. Women in Peru have a tradition of passing down their knitting knowledge from mother to daughter, allowing the next generation to have a chance to learn a skill that will enable them to be self-sufficient. Every purchase of Miou clothing contributes to continuing this positive cycle and supporting the philosophy that all children deserve a fair chance.
