About Miou
Miou is proud to offer fashionable, high-quality garments while contributing to ethical production that supports fair-trade labour, conscientiously chosen materials, and lasting products. Our garments are handmade by exceptionally skilled artisans in Peru using 100% GOTS organic cotton or baby alpaca wool. Many are coloured with natural plant-dyes, a method based on Indigenous Peruvian tradition.
“Handmade with love in Peru. Clothing for the kind of parent you want to be.”

Slow Fashion, Timeless Design
Unlike many brands, Miou does not continually change lines every season. Instead, we focus on creating ethical knitwear of quality that never goes out of style. We believe in slow fashion that benefits our earth, our children, and our knitters. Each garment offers gorgeous design that is still comfortable and durable enough for play.
Miou’s line of eco-friendly children’s clothing is designed by Christine Dubin. Originally from France, Christine now lives in a charming oceanfront town on the West Coast of Canada.

Fair Trade, Gentle to the Planet
Miou’s vision is to have a positive impact on the world and the people whose lives we touch. All our designer knitwear for children is handmade by artisans in rural Peru, where knitting is a centuries-old tradition passed down through generations. Working with Miou empowers knitters to provide food, housing, healthcare, and education for their families while doing something they love.
We are also committed to protecting the environment. We use baby alpaca wool, considered a “green” fibre because of alpacas’ low-impact grazing habits. Our organic cotton is pesticide-free, our dyes are eco-certified, and we strive to use recycled materials in our operations.

Caring for Alpaca Clothing
Alpaca wool, once called “the fibre of the gods” by the ancient Incas, is as soft and luxurious as cashmere, stronger than mohair, and warmer than sheep wool. It is durable, elastic, hypoallergenic, water-repellent, and antibacterial — making it perfect for children’s clothing.
To care for your alpaca knitwear: wash by hand in cold water with mild detergent and lay flat to dry.
Caring for Organic Cotton Clothing
We choose organic cotton because traditional cotton is grown with toxic pesticides harmful to the earth and our bodies. To clean your cotton clothing:
• Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent and lay flat to dry.
• Or, machine wash on the delicate cycle and tumble dry on the lowest setting.
What Families Are Saying
