Alpaca is one of the most eco-friendly wools available. Because of their efficient eating habits, alpacas use little water and don’t cause harm to their surroundings with their grazing habits. The wool is soft and won’t feel itchy against children’s sensitive skin.
To wash your alpaca clothing, simply soak in cold water using mild detergent. Don’t wring it out, as this will cause the garment to become misshapen, and never use hot water, which will cause the fibres to band together and affect the look of the wool. Squeeze the sweater to work the soap through and then rinse well and lay flat between two towels. Roll up the towels and let them absorb the water before removing the garment and lying flat on a fresh towel to dry.
