Alpaca is an incredible wool: it doesn’t scratch or itch the skin, it’s velvety soft and, remarkably, it has some stain-resistant properties. What could be more perfect for young children?
To wash your bonnet, you just need to follow a few steps. Start by soaking in cool water with a mild detergent. Hot water can ruin alpaca garments, as the heat will cause the fibres to band together and turn to felt. Squeeze the garment gently without wringing or twisting. Rinse in cold water and gently press out the extra water. Lay flat between two towels and roll up the towels to soak up the water. You can lay the item flat on a fresh towel or dry on a sweater rack. Voila! You’re all done.
